CatFriends (CF) is a 501c3 (non-profit) all volunteer organization that is Oahu's source of information and education for abandoned and feral cat issues. CF is the island's leader in the humane control of abandoned and feral cats.

We Provide:
  • Non-lethal and humane population control through an organized Trap-Neuter-Return-Manage (TNRM) program,
  • Cat colony manager support on a local and state level and a network of colony managers in Hawaii and elsewhere,
  • Educational resources for all aspects of cat colony management, including hands-on instruction for caretakers, training workshops and conferences,
  • Liaisons between individuals and groups such as colony managers, the Hawaiian Humane Society, other agencies and the general public, and the
  • Adoption and fostering of cats in need.

We Do It For The Animals And Our Island Home:

On the island of O'ahu, thousands of cats are abandoned by relocating families, lost, or born into an environment devoid of kindly human contact. They are faced with starvation, disease, predation, and acts of terrible cruelty. CatFriends believes no living creature should be subject to such a life, and strives to prevent the birth of feral felines while doing our very best to ensure, with the help of dedicated volunteers, the health and safety of those colonies already in existence.

Through active trap, neuter, return & manage (TNRM), CatFriends helps protect public health while humanely reducing the numbers of feral cats on O'ahu. Our education outreach supports the spay/neuter of all pets, as well as a lifelong commitment to them. This, in turn, reduces the primary source of feral cats, abandoned or lost unsterilized felines whose progeny are born into a feral life.
